Lion wasn’t feeling up to making the trip to Costco with me. Ordinarily, we would have put it off a day to see if he’d feel better, but the pharmacy is closed on Sunday and the dog needed her meds. He was surprised by how fast I was back home. It wasn’t as crowded as I thought it might be. I’d waited till late afternoon, hoping that people were all shopped out. And I didn’t do our normal wander through the store. I knew what we needed and I zipped through as fast as possible with very little sightseeing. There was no line at the pharmacy and not much of a line at the self checkout. I was home in no time.
At this point, I don’t want to go anywhere near a store until after Thanksgiving. I don’t think the crowds will be as bad as a normal year, but the fewer people I can come into contact with the better. If we don’t have it, we don’t need it. After all, it’s just us for turkey day. We’re not putting on an elaborate dinner. If I bought twelve things at Costco yesterday, it was a lot. The only thing I can be accused of hoarding is cornbread mix. We love it and they don’t have it year round so I bought two boxes. Arrest that woman! She’s hoarding cornbread mix.
Since Lion wasn’t feeling well, he stayed hunkered under the covers and we watched TV. He snoozed off and on and says he doesn’t even remember falling asleep. I wonder if you ever remember falling asleep. I mean, you might be on the couch or in bed with the intention of napping, but do you ever really remember falling asleep? Anyway, I think he feels better today. If we can keep it that way, maybe we’ll have some fun tonight.
The local football team played Thursday night and our team has a bye week so we’re football free this weekend. We have a few chores to do. Otherwise, we’ll probably be watching TV in bed with either one or both of us snoozing off and on. It’s definitely time for hibernation. The leaves are mostly gone. People have Christmas lights up already. We’re all looking forward to this year being over. Unfortunately, our problems will carry over into the new year.
Fortunately, one of the biggest problems will be gone on January 20. Then, the hope is that things will take a turn for the better. We can all use that.
