As you know, I’ve agreed to unlock Lion and edge him at least every other day. Actual play comes and goes. This morning I’ve decided that if the every other day tactic worked for unlocking him, then it can work for play as well. Friday night I unlocked Lion and tied his balls up while I edged him. Last night I just edged him. That means tonight is a play night.
That’s not to say I can’t play with him every night, and there may be days that should be play nights that he doesn’t feel like playing. Nothing we do is set in stone. Life intrudes. We adjust. The important thing is to get back on track as soon as possible. We haven’t done well with that. I’m hoping this will help.
Lion showed me a waxing video so I could learn the technique. Obviously I won’t get it right the first time, but I have a better idea of how it should work. The guy in the video was very hairy. It was easy to see where the wax needed to be applied next. Lion isn’t half as hairy in his hairiest spots. Add to that the gray hairs and I’m certain I’ll miss things. I am confident, however, that I will get better as times goes on.
Last night, just before I unlocked him, Lion peed all over the place because he wasn’t centered in the cage correctly. Apparently shortening the cage did not cure all the ills of the cage. It’s been better. I don’t know what happened last night. He grumbled about being so tired of the cage. When I was done edging him, he asked if the cage could stay off last night. I allowed it.
This morning, I’m not sure if he’ll want the cage back on. I’m not sure if I want the cage back on. I think the cage is both necessary and not necessary. I believe Lion feels the same way. What to do? I have no idea. [Lion — I don’t either]
