As far as I can tell, there are two distinct spanking styles. One is the alternating cheek method, and the other is the cross-crack swat. When Mrs. Lion started spanking me, I suggested the alternating cheek method. This one uses a relatively small paddle surface that is applied alternately to the left and right cheeks. This method permits pinpoint accuracy on the most sensative areas of the bottom. Mine are just above my thighs in the “sit spot.”

The cross-cheek method uses a larger paddle (longer anyway) surface and is applied to both cheeks at the same time. It is most often applied a bit higher than Mrs. Lion’s Favorite spots. The main advantage of this mthod is that it allows harder swats and doesn’t give any recovery time between swats. The alternating cheek method allows a little recovery time while the other cheek is being swatted.

Mrs.Lion is a creature of habit and seems to find it difficult to sustain a cross-crack spanking. From my limited experience, I can say that the cross-crack method sends a much more painful message than the alternating cheek spanking. I think it invites the spanker to use more energy. From videos that I’ve watched, the cross-crack spankings seem to get the quickest and strongest responses from the spankee.

After an alternating cheek spanking.

The defunct Disciplinary Wives Club advocated cross-crack spankings with a large paddle for severe punishments.  They suggested alternating cheek hairbrush spanking for OTK spankings. Since all of my spankings have me strapped to the spanking bench, Mrs. Lion is free to use either method.

When she finishes an alternating cheek spanking, I usually have two blistered and bleeding areas on the lower outside of each cheek (see image, right). I suspect that the pattern would be quite different if she used a larger paddle in a cross-crack spanking. I know that she likes a nice, even red color covering my bottom. With some practice, I suspect a cross-crack beating would yield that.
