Our Anniversary, A Coke-Covered Puppy, And Blueberry Jam

Yesterday was our anniversary. We spent it making blueberry jam, fighting off the puppy, and doing around-the-house stuff. By 6 PM Mrs. Lion was in a bad temper. The puppy was underfoot, and she was struggling in the kitchen. I wisely retreated into my office to write this post.

Apparently, something I wrote in my post yesterday gave Mrs. Lion the impression that I wasn’t interested in sex. Perhaps I wasn’t when I wrote the post, but my interest increased as the evening wore on. When we got home from the Olive Garden, I was feeling good. Part of the reason could have been my celebratory Strawberry Daquery that I had with dinner. More likely, it was that Mrs. Lion hadn’t been near my penis in almost a week.

We had a little problem in the kitchen. Mrs. Lion was putting Diet Coke in the fridge and a can dropped. It split open and sprayed the puppy. Mrs. Lion took the dog into the shower to clean her off. The experience terrified the little dog. I rushed in to see what happened to her. She was getting rinsed. The puppy recovered and is now back to mischief.

I’ve been careful to avoid trouble. The puppy is enough for Mrs. Lion. Tomorrow it’s my turn for her attention. She is determined to give me a “just because” spanking. Woo hoo. My stomach is better—no more excuses. The weather will also be cooler. It hit 90°F. We just have AC in our bedroom and my office. It’s a dry heat, so much easier to take than NYC summer.

Tonight we will be making more blueberry jam. We still have enough for at least two more batches. This jam is insanely good and not something you can find in most stores. It’s easy to make. The only drawback is that the recipe we use can only make 32 oz at a time. It won’t work properly if you double up. What makes this jam special is that the cooking method preserves some whole berries. It’s a treat to bite into one.  If you’re interested in trying it, the recipe is on America’s Test Kitchen website (Click here to see it). Yum!
