The weather seemed to be against me when I first started mowing the lawn yesterday. I felt some sprinkles and there were ominous clouds, but I decided to mow until I was officially rained out. I made it all the way through in one run. Usually I take a break for a drink and a tiny rest but I was afraid the rain would see my break as an invitation. I even pulled my brand new (I joked it was my mother’s day gift to myself) rechargeable weed whacker out. Lion said it was useless. Rechargeable doesn’t have enough power. I’m happy to say he was wrong. Even though the weeds were grown up more than I’d like, the weed whacker took care of it. I ran out of energy before it did. This morning, the weather is beautiful. I could have waited until today to mow, but then I wouldn’t have been able to sit back and enjoy the sunshine.

In addition to my mowing the lawn, Lion finally made the bread he’s been talking about for weeks. Actually, he’s been talking about making French bread for months and then that morphed into making French sandwich bread. It uses milk and a square, lidded pan. I’m sure Lion has made French bread a few times since I’ve been with him. This is the first time he made the sandwich bread. I’m not a fan. To be fair, I’m not a fan of crusty bread and this was his first try at the sandwich-type so I’ll reserve judgement until he’s done it a few more times. However, at this moment, I prefer regular French bread.

I helped Lion with the ingredients after I came in from mowing the lawn. I was tired, sweaty and grass-covered. I wanted to take a shower, but I really wanted to sit down. Mowing the lawn for an hour and a half (as a guess) is tiring. I did manage to sneak in a drink while I helped with the bread. And eventually I got my shower in. The bread process went on and on and on. It had to rise three different times and by the end it seemed like the rising had stalled. It was finally out of the oven around midnight.

The bread was not the reason we didn’t do anything sexual. I was shot. Everything hurt. It seemed like the entire right side of my body was against me. My shoulder has been hurting for a while. My knee joined in last weekend. And my elbow decided now would be a good time to start hurting. I was fine as long as I didn’t move. How long can that happen? If I hadn’t been up and down with the bread, I would have been up and down with the dog or to use the bathroom or some other reason. The transition from down to up and up to down hurt. Once up or down, I was okay. Needless to say, there was no joy in the Lions’ den last night.

This morning I feel a little better. Things still hurt but they seem to be better behaved. I’m confident Lion can have some fun at some point today, whether it’s afternoon delight or evening fun I don’t know. But he will have some fun.

    1. I am getting better. I’m not 100% yet, but improving. Thanks for asking.
